- **OAuth Create Token endpoint deprecated** (Deprecation, 26. Aug. 2026): The /api/v2/oauth/tokens endpoint is deprecated in favor of the Create Token for Grant Type endpoint.

### Juli 2026

- **IT Asset Management Assets API - purchase_cost field format change** (Breaking Change, 6. Juli 2026): Starting August 6, 2026, the purchase_cost field will change from a plain number to an object with amount and currency properties, requiring integration updates to handle the new object structure.

### Juni 2026

- **Jira Integration V2 delisting** (Deprecation, 24. Juni 2026): Zendesk will be delisting the Jira Integration V2 and re-listing the original version; existing V2 customers will be supported but should expect transition guidance.
- **API tokens end-of-life process** (Deprecation, 1. Juni 2026): Multi-phase API token deprecation: deactivation of unused tokens starting Jul 28, 2026, unable to create new tokens starting Oct 27, 2026, and complete deactivation by Apr 30, 2027.

- **AI Agents API base URL deprecation** (Deprecation, 19. Mai 2026): The legacy *.ultimate.ai API base URL is deprecated starting July 1, 2026 in favor of {subdomain}.zendesk.com/ai-agents/api.

### März 2026

- **Create Request endpoint email verification workflow** (Neue Funktion, 10. März 2026): Added email verification workflow for anonymous requests to prevent spam; anonymous requests now create suspended tickets until email verification.

### Februar 2026

- **Request list helper deprecation** (Deprecation, 3. Feb. 2026): The beta {{request_list}} helper is deprecated; customers should use the Copenhagen theme repository code base for customization.

- **OAuth access and refresh tokens enforcement** (Breaking Change, 16. Jan. 2026): Zendesk enforcing default token expiration (TTL) and requiring refresh token flow for global OAuth clients starting February 2, 2026, with progressive rollout and April 1, 2027 deadline for local clients.
- **Zendesk Apps framework password setting removal** (Breaking Change, 14. Jan. 2026): Zendesk apps no longer support password settings effective April 29, 2026; must migrate to OAuth or secure settings.

- **Legacy AI Agents Data Export API deprecation** (Deprecation, 18. Dez. 2025): Legacy AI Agents Data Export API deprecated as of December 18, 2025, with end of life on May 29, 2026; migrate to new AI Agents Data Export API.

### September 2025

- **Unity SDK language support removal** (Breaking Change, 10. Sept. 2025): Unity SDK v4.0.0 removes built-in support for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Thai; language-specific font packages must be installed separately.
- **Zendesk Sell retirement announcement** (Deprecation, 9. Sept. 2025): Zendesk Sell will be retired on August 31, 2027; full access available until that date.

- **Sunshine Conversations SDK maintenance ended** (Deprecation, 28. Aug. 2025): Zendesk will no longer update or maintain Python, Ruby, Java, and JavaScript SDK libraries for Sunshine Conversations API starting August 28, 2025.

### Juli 2025

- **Legacy custom objects creation restriction** (Breaking Change, 7. Juli 2025): Cannot create new legacy custom objects or relationships starting January 15, 2026; full removal in July 2026 requires migration to new custom objects experience.
- **Legacy custom objects removal** (Breaking Change, 7. Juli 2025): New legacy custom objects and relationships cannot be created starting January 15, 2026; full removal scheduled for July 2026.

### Juni 2025

- **Incremental User Export rate limits applied** (Breaking Change, 27. Juni 2025): Starting June 27, 2025, rate limits apply to Incremental User Export cursor-based operations: 20 requests/minute for standard accounts, 60 for high-volume add-on accounts.

### Mai 2025

- **Tickets API optimistic locking enforcement** (Breaking Change, 15. Mai 2025): All ticket updates now protected by optimistic locking with 409 Conflict responses for collisions instead of 200 OK.

### April 2025

- **Omnichannel routing engagements time format change** (Breaking Change, 25. Apr. 2025): start_time and end_time values must now be specified in Unix epoch time in seconds instead of milliseconds starting April 25, 2025.
- **Chat Web SDK and Conversation APIs deprecation** (Deprecation, 23. Apr. 2025): Chat Conversation APIs and Chat WebSDK will stop accepting new integrations starting April 30, 2025; existing integrations continue working but migration to Zendesk Messaging recommended.
- **User Identities verification properties added** (Neue Funktion, 3. Apr. 2025): User Identities API now includes verification_method and verified_at properties to indicate email verification status.

- **Targets API removal** (Breaking Change, 28. Okt. 2024): Support for all URL and brand-specific targets ended Oct 28, 2024; external email targets still supported; use webhooks instead.
- **Redirect Rules API general availability** (Neue Funktion, 21. Okt. 2024): Redirect Rules API now GA, enabling creation and management of redirects for deleted or archived content to prevent 404 errors.

- **Less secure OAuth grant types deprecation** (Deprecation, 27. Aug. 2024): Implicit and password grant flows deprecated for OAuth; must switch to authorization code grant flow by February 17, 2025.
- **Zopim Chat REST API deprecation** (Deprecation, 19. Aug. 2024): www.zopim.com/api/v2 endpoints will stop working on May 12, 2025; migrate to {subdomain}.zendesk.com/api/v2/chat.
- **Amazon EventBridge Events Connector deprecation** (Deprecation, 12. Aug. 2024): Cannot create new event connections starting August 12, 2024; existing connections work until December 1, 2025 when migration to webhooks required.
- **Skill-based routing sorting change** (Breaking Change, 2. Aug. 2024): Incremental Instance Values Export endpoint will sort by updated_at instead of created_at timestamp starting September 2, 2024.
