# Pipedrive integrations

*4 integrations*

**In short:** Integrating Pipedrive means moving persons, organizations and deals into the systems that act on them: an ERP that turns a won deal into a sales order, or an email platform that runs campaigns on pipeline stages. What goes wrong is loose identity, because Pipedrive tolerates duplicate persons and several emails per person, plus hashed custom-field keys, pipeline-scoped stage IDs and a token-based rate budget.

## What connects to Pipedrive

Pipedrive is a pipeline tool first: sales teams live in deals, stages and activities, and the data model stays deliberately light. That is why it gets connected rather than extended. When a deal is won, something downstream has to act on it, and marketing wants to react to where a person sits in the pipeline.

The two common directions follow from that. Towards finance, a won deal becomes a customer and a sales order in an ERP such as NetSuite, which needs far more structure than a deal value and a currency, see [NetSuite and Pipedrive](https://seamless.engineering/integrations/netsuite-pipedrive/). Towards marketing, persons and stage changes flow into an email platform with consent handled properly, as in [Pipedrive to Mailchimp](https://seamless.engineering/integrations/pipedrive-mailchimp/) or [Pipedrive to ActiveCampaign](https://seamless.engineering/integrations/pipedrive-activecampaign/).

## Where Pipedrive integrations break

- **Identity is loose.** Pipedrive lets a person carry several labelled emails and tolerates duplicate persons, while email platforms key on one email and ERPs on a customer ID. Without a dedup rule and a stored cross-reference, one person becomes two records downstream.
- **Custom fields are hashed keys.** The API addresses custom fields by a 40-character hashed key, not by the label users see. A mapping built from labels breaks the moment someone renames a field.
- **Stage IDs are numbers scoped to a pipeline.** Stage 3 means nothing without its pipeline. Automations and order creation have to be pipeline-aware, and a stage change is an event to act on once, not a field to re-send every run.
- **Automations write back.** A field written into a marketing tool can trigger an automation that updates Pipedrive, which fires the sync again. Origin tagging and change detection stop the loop.
- **The rate budget is token-based.** Pipedrive meters a token-cost budget per company that a naive full re-sync burns through in minutes. Deltas by `updated_since` plus webhooks keep the sync inside it.
